Just one week after Red Tide closed Frenchman Bay, (see Blog post “Ecologial Impact of Cruise Ship Pier on Bay”), a bloom of Karenia (which produces stuff the Red Tide entity likes to feed on) has occurred in Southern Maine, in Casco Bay. Increased Karenia blooms all over the world are linked to human caused increases of nitrogen in the Ocean.
Algae bloom in Casco Bay poses increasing threat to some marine life
